Compliance and trust

Built for the rules that govern AI in hiring

The EU AI Act classes AI used to assess job candidates as high-risk. UK GDPR gives people the right not to be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing. SmartRecruits keeps a person in charge of every decision and records each step.

What SmartRecruits does, and what it never does

A person makes every decisionSmartRecruits never makes a hiring decision. A named person records each one, with a reason from a fixed list.
Every rating cites evidenceRatings must point to a CV passage or transcript timestamp. An assessment with uncited ratings fails rather than being shown.
Informed consentCandidates consent to a versioned AI interview notice. If the notice or retention period changes, they are asked again.
Protected characteristics flaggedCriteria that refer to protected characteristics are flagged before they can be confirmed.
Everything recordedAn append-only audit log records every action, including decisions, consent and data exports.
Explanations for candidatesOnce a decision is recorded, you can produce a written explanation of how the candidate was assessed.
The recommendation rule

A published rule, not a black box

Each confirmed criterion is rated from 1 (no evidence) to 4 (strong). The ratings are combined into a weighted mean using the weights you set, and a fixed, versioned rule turns that mean into an advisory recommendation. The rule's full text is shown in the product next to every assessment.

Behaviour fit and ranking help you compare candidates. They never change the recommendation.
